Charles Russell Speechlys Luxembourg advises Alpac Capital on the acquisition of a majority stake in Euronews

Charles Russell Speechlys advised Alpac Capital, a Portuguese investment fund, on the acquisition of a majority stake in Euronews SA, a French headquartered pan-European media group.

This operation will allow Euronews’ European and independent offer to be better supported and reinforced through a continuing media digitalisation process, as well as diversification efforts.

The deal, originally announced in December 2021, was concluded following approval by the French Government, few days ago.

Yacine Diallo, Partner and Head of our Luxembourg office comments: "It was exciting to put together an ad-hoc multi-disciplinary team in Luxembourg for a transaction in such a dynamic industry. We understand that this acquisition will transform the development of Euronews, to make it a leading pan-European media group in the coming years".

The Charles Russell Speechlys’ multidisciplinary team was led by Yacine Diallo, with support from Alexis Urbin-Choffray (Tax); Jean-Baptiste Beauvoir-Planson, Anastasiya Nikitina and Imran Moutaabbid (Corporate).

Portuguese law firm CCSL Advogados also advised Alpac Capital.
