Charles Russell Speechlys welcomes Corporate and Commercial Partner Alex Reid in Dubai

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the lateral hire of Alex Reid. Alex joins as a Partner within the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial team and will be based in Dubai. He joins the Firm from HFW, and his appointment will further strengthen and complement the Firm’s offering in the UAE and regional market.

With over 20 years of experience, Alex is a transactional lawyer with an established and diverse corporate and commercial practice, focussing primarily on natural resources, transport and logistics, financial services and technology. Alex regularly advises his international and regional client base on a variety of complex corporate matters, commercial contracts, projects, restructurings, and reorganisations. He is also well-versed in assisting clients on matters of general company law and corporate governance.

A recognised practitioner in the UAE, Alex also has strong international relations, having advised on transactions across numerous jurisdictions throughout his career, spending various periods working in London, Paris, Shanghai, Moscow, and Stockholm.

Patrick Gearon, Head of the Middle East practice comments: “We are very pleased to welcome Alex to the team. He joins us at a time of significant international growth, in what are important anniversary years both in Bahrain and Dubai. Alex’s addition will further build on our profile and client base within the region, and I am thrilled that he will work alongside our exceptionally talented corporate and commercial teams across the globe.”

Alex Reid adds: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to further my practice at Charles Russell Speechlys. The Firm is known for undertaking some of the highest-value transactions and cases within the GCC region and is a trusted adviser to a deep and impressive client base. I look forward to working alongside a team of excellent lawyers in a dynamic and collaborative environment, with the benefit of the international foothold and pedigree which Charles Russell Speechlys has to offer.”

Alex’s arrival closely follows the appointment of Sports Partner Benoît Pasquier and Dispute Resolution Partner Simon Hofstetter in Switzerland.
