Charles Russell Speechlys strengthens international Sports credentials with the appointment of Benoît Pasquier

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the appointment of Swiss qualified lawyer, Benoît Pasquier. Benoît joins as a Partner within the Firm’s sports team and will be based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Benoît specialises in commercial sports law, and has a wealth of experience in issues relating to sponsorship, media rights and merchandising agreements and regularly advises clients on sports integrity issues, such as competition and anti-doping.

Benoît has also acquired significant expertise in disciplinary and ethics matters and has a solid understanding of good governance. His wide-ranging client base includes sports organisations, clubs, and athletes, as well as investment funds and governments. Benoît is an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has been appointed arbitrator in football and other sports cases since 2019.

Having worked in South America and Asia, Benoît has developed an extensive understanding of the international sports and business industry. He has longstanding relationships with numerous sports leaders and key decision-makers gaining privileged access to the inner workings of the sports industry.

Benoît’s arrival closely follows the appointment of Dispute Resolution Partner Simon Hofstetter in Switzerland and Partner Nicola Saccardo, an Italian tax specialist with over 20 years’ experience, within the Firm’s Private Client team in London.
