Emily Dobson writes for the Evening Standard on whether regulatory reform will boost the UK's IPO market

Following the announcement of major Kazakh airline Air Astana that its dual London listing will now take place in February 2024, Emily Dobson, Senior Associate in our corporate team, takes a look at regulatory changes on the horizon for the UK's IPO landscape.

Writing for the Evening Standard, she explains that while the Air Astana listing is no doubt welcome news at the start of 2024, still only a few brave companies are likely to undertake a listing whilst the regulatory landscape in the UK is changing and costs unknown.

As well as looking at the proposed regulatory changes and the impact they might have on the City, Emily also argues that, despite the perception that companies are preferring to list across the Atlantic, "the US is not suitable for all companies, especially those with a smaller market cap".

She argues that, when reading these sorts of headlines, "companies looking to list should exercise caution".
