Sophie Rothwell writes for Law 360 on the Bullying and Respect at Work Bill
The Bullying and Respect at Work Bill had its first reading in Parliament on Dec. 11, 2023, and is due to have a second reading on June 7, 2024. The bill called for the introduction of a statutory definition of bullying at work and an associated right for employees to bring claims of workplace bullying to an employment tribunal.
In light of its potential advancement and debate before Parliament in 2024, Sophie Rothwell, Associate, writes for Law 360.
Her article seeks to consider how a statutory definition and associated claim could be developed and the potential impacts of the same for both employers and senior executives.
She addresses:
- What might the definition of bullying encompass, and how might a claim be pleaded?
- What might the impact be for employers?
- What might the impact be for senior executives?
