Suzanne writes an opinion piece for The Times Brief on predatory marriage and questions why it is so much easier to marry than to change a will.
Predatory marriage involves fraudsters marrying vulnerable, often elderly individuals without the knowledge of their loved ones. They can then access the spouse’s lifetime savings and even inherit their estate under intestacy rules, which means that previous wills are revoked by marriage.
