Emma Randall writes for People Management on the advertisement of salary ranges

Landmark legislation has created a legal requirement for employers in New York to include a  ‘good faith’ salary range on all of their job adverts. The aim of the new law – which applies to all businesses with four or more employees, where one works in New York City – is to help close the wage gap. The hope is that being open about salaries will enable all employees to negotiate their terms on a more equal footing.

With New York employers now required to include a ‘good faith’ pay range on all adverts for vacancies, promotions and transfer opportunities, Emma Randall, Associate, explores the potential for such a rule in the UK.

In an article for People Management, Emma, outlines the effectiveness in New York and direction of travel in the UK.
