European Commission fines NBCUniversal €14.3 million for territorial and customer sales restrictions

The European Commission has fined NBCUniversal €14.3million for restricting traders from selling licensed merchandise to territories and customers beyond those allocated to them. The restrictions concerned merchandise products featuring the Minions, Jurassic World and other images and characters from NBCUniversal's films. Click here.

CMA issues adverse provisional findings in relation to Prosafe/Floatel merger  

The CMA has provisionally found that the Prosafe/Floatel merger raises competition concerns in relation to the supply of semi-submersible offshore accommodation support vessels to oil and gas companies. Its initial view is that blocking the merger may be the only way of addressing these concerns. Click here.

European Court of Justice issues judgment in relation to the CMA’s Paroxetine case

The European Court of Justice has issued its judgment in relation to the CMA’s Paroxetine case. The Competition Appeal Tribunal referred a number of questions to the Court as part of its consideration of appeals against the CMA’s decision and the case will now return to the Tribunal for final judgment.
