European Commission opens phase 2 investigation into proposed acquisition of GrandVision by EssilorLuxottica. 

The European Commission has opened a phase 2 investigation to assess the proposed acquisition of GrandVision by EssilorLuxottica. The Commission is concerned that the merger may reduce competition for the wholesale supply of ophthalmic lenses and eyewear, as well as for the retail supply of optical products. Click here.

  • The CMA has issued a supplementary statement of objections in relation to its hydrocortisone investigations. The CMA has been conducting three separate investigations into alleged excessive and unfair pricing, anti-competitive agreements and abusive conduct in relation to the supply of hydrocortisone tablets in the UK.
