William Longrigg quoted by The Telegraph, The Times, The Independent and the Evening Standard on the 4.5% drop in divorces in 2020

William Longrigg has been quoted by The Telegraph, The TimesThe Independent and the Evening Standard on the 4.5% drop in divorces in 2020.

Following the publication of the ONS figures, William commented: "Today’s figures show that the well-documented surge in divorces following the pandemic was in fact misleading and arguably untrue.

"However, this may have been due to couples waiting to take advantage of the introduction of no-fault divorce, which has seen many delays. Now expected to be introduced in April 2022, the reform will allow couples to avoid the blame game when filing their divorce enquiries and procedures."

He continued: "It is generally agreed amongst family lawyers that having to make allegations of adultery or unreasonable behaviour in the great majority of divorces is a waste of time and money. The current system is outdated and the change to the law will undoubtedly alter the family law landscape for the better."
