The Charles Russell Speechlys Foundation
The Charles Russell Speechlys Foundation is a charitable incorporated organisation established as an independent, registered charity by the Partners of Charles Russell Speechlys.
Formally registered by the Charity Commission in February 2020, the Foundation offers grant-giving support to the community through the charities selected by the Trustees.
The independent board of Trustees are responsible for strategic direction and has a broad outlook but particularly focuses on Justice. This is not intended to be narrow legalistic definition of Justice, but expected to encompass social justice and environmental justice too. In particular, Trustees will consider pursuing any or all of the following objects within a single project:
- promoting the sound administration of justice
- improving educational opportunities for the disadvantaged
- promoting human rights
- promoting social inclusion
Working locally
The Foundation also works with local Community Funds in the Gloucestershire and Surrey areas to support community initiatives, where a selection of local projects and charities, whose activities complement the Foundation’s objectives can benefit from grant-giving.
Charity Partnerships
For the financial year 2021/2022 the Trustees have settled on a strategy that will focus Foundation giving on a small number of UK charities whose mission is critical in the context of COVID-19 and the anticipated economic downturn.
Please note that The Charles Russell Speechlys Foundation is unable to accept unsolicited applications from charitable organisations or individuals.
