William is a specialist construction disputes lawyer. He has advised and secured successful outcomes for various construction industry participants in adjudication, arbitration and High Court proceedings.

William is admitted to practice in New Zealand.

Experience

  • Acting for a local authority in defending high-value, multi-party building defects claims in the High Court of New Zealand.
  • Acting for an employer in defending various contractor claims arising from the construction of an aquatic sports facility. These were resolved following two adjudications, an arbitration and High Court proceedings.
  • Acting for two employers in defending an adjudication brought by a contractor concerning a housing development.
  • Advising clients on project delivery issues including variations, extensions of time, defects, liquidated damages, payment, practical completion and termination.
