Wei advises high net worth individuals and families on a broad range of private wealth matters, including the structuring and implementation of family trusts and foundations, family governance, pre-immigration planning, philanthropic structuring, establishment of family offices, corporate restructuring, wills and estate planning, and family business succession.
She also advises institutional trustees on operational issues relating to asset protection structures and fiduciary risks. Her work often involves multi-jurisdictional considerations, and she is valued for her clear, practical approach to succession planning.
Wei is recognised as a leading practitioner in private wealth, with rankings in Private Wealth Law in China by Chambers High Net Worth 2025. She is also listed as a “Recommended Lawyer” for Private Client in Hong Kong by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2026, and has received the Thought Leadership award in 2025 and the Women in Wealth Management – Non-Banking Sector award in 2026 at the WealthBriefing Asia Greater China Awards.
Wei is admitted to practise in Hong Kong and British Columbia (Canada) and is fluent in English and Mandarin. She previously practised at a leading Canadian law firm in Vancouver before relocating to Hong Kong in 2019, and was also seconded to the legal department of a global bank, advising both its private wealth business and trust company.
She has completed the In-Depth Tax Course of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, and is a member of STEP and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner.

- Advised on and implemented a holistic global asset protection plan for an ultra high net worth family from Hong Kong prior to their immigration to Canada.
- Regularly provided family governance consulting and prepared family charters for high net worth families in P.R.C. and Southeast Asia.
- Implemented a complex corporate reorganization for the second and third generation of an ultra high net worth family involving more than five family branches.
- Advised on and implemented a holistic global asset protection plan for an ultra high net worth family having bankable assets in Hong Kong, commercial real estate in Canada and private equity investment in Europe.
- Advised on and implemented a holistic asset protection structure for an ultra high net worth family prior to the IPO of a company in Nasdaq.
- Advised a global restaurant chain on the use of trust to structure its franchisees in southeast Asia.
