Tom Wong has extensive experience in PRC corporate and commercial matters, especially in the areas of cross-border M&A (including PE and VC) and joint ventures. Tom focuses on PRC domestic and overseas cross-border M&A and related legal issues including corporate M&A, PE and VC investment, internal restructuring as well as strategic cooperation and joint ventures. Over the years, Tom has developed his expertise in a wide range of sectors such as oil and gas, TMT, mining, healthcare, environment protection and manufacturing.
Before joining Charles Russell Speechlys, Tom worked in reputable Chinese and international law firms. Tom advised numerous PRC companies in outbound M&A transactions, and assisted multiple foreign investors in inbound M&A transactions and equity investments in mainland China. Tom also advised multinational companies on their M&A and internal restructuring in mainland China.
In addition, Tom advised clients on a wide range of PRC employment law issues, covering the entire process of human resource management such as recruitment, employment contract, social insurance, labour dispatch and termination. Tom worked with domestic and foreign clients to establish appropriate governance procedures and control processes to ensure full compliance with PRC employment laws and regulations. Tom is also experienced in PRC-related regulatory and compliance matters, such as anti-corruption, anti-unfair competition and data protection.
Tom speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
