Simon joined the firm in 2000 and is a partner in the Real Estate Group. Simon deals with all aspects of commercial property including development and secured lending but specialises in complex investment transactions. He acts for a broad range of clients several of which he has acted for since he joined the firm which include institutional funds, trusts, private banks, corporate occupiers, family offices and private clients based both in the UK and overseas. Simon has built up a particular reputation acting for international clients investing in to UK real estate. Due to the nature of the transactions Simon leads on he often works closely with his colleagues in Construction, Planning, Private and Corporate Tax and also with the teams based in our international offices. He is recognised in Chambers and Legal 500 as a lead partner.
Simon is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
- Acted for a private investor who acquired three prime assets in central London for in excess of £185 million. The deal needed to be completed in a very short timescale which was achieved.
- Acted for an international family office on the acquisition of a complex site in London and the subsequent development into a high end mixed use scheme.
- Acted for a private UK bank on a significant loan on a prime asset in Mayfair.
- Acted for a private investor on the acquisition of an office building in the square mile and the subsequent development into a luxury boutique hotel.
