Rory's practice covers commercial, contractual, debt and shareholder disputes, with particular experience in supply chain and product-related disputes in the Retail and Food & Beverage sectors. Rory also advises on data protection issues, investigations and consumer product claims.
In addition, Rory has experience acting in international arbitration proceedings across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, manufacturing and banking.
Rory is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
Experience
- Acting for leading UK food-on-the-go retailer Greggs Plc in a business interruption insurance dispute against Zurich Insurance plc ([2022] EWHC 2545 (Comm)).
- Successfully resisting an application for indemnity costs in a double-derivative shareholder claim Leslie v Ball [2023] EWHC 1771 (Ch).
- Obtaining summary judgment, subsequently upheld by the Court of Appeal, in a contractual repayment dispute.
- Setting aside the enforcement of a fabricated £70 million arbitral award in the Commercial Court in Contax Partners Inc BVI v Kuwait Finance House and Ors [2024] EWHC 436 (Comm).
