Rebecca has extensive experience advising on a broad range of finance transactions, covering both Islamic and conventional finance, including bilateral and syndicated debt arrangements, asset finance, energy (renewable and utilities), financings and debt restructurings.
Rebecca focuses her practice on structuring, negotiating and executing complex commercial real estate finance transactions across all asset classes and is known for her work on acquisition financings, real estate development loans, hotels and resorts financings and mixed-use projects. Rebecca’s experience also extends to advising (both borrower and lender side), in relation to Shari'a-compliant REIT’s.
Rebecca routinely works with a variety of financial institutions, investment funds (including REIT’s), and private borrowers with respect to their debt and equity financing activities and transactions. Rebecca has industry experience which has enabled her to gain a solid understanding of business drivers whilst balancing the legal risks.
Experience
- Representing a leading regional bank on the AED 225m refinancing of a 5* resort development facility in Fujairah including receivables-backed financing;
- Representing a leading regional bank on its participation in a syndicated islamic financing (Ijarah), granted to a UAE national carrier in respect of its acquisition of multiple aircraft;
- Representing a leading regional bank on its participation in a mezzanine syndicated financing of a wind power project in Abu Dhabi;
representing a leading regional bank on a AED 650m lease rental discounting facility granted to a Shari'a-compliant REIT in respect of a portfolio of regional commercial real estate; - Representing a leading regional bank in respect of its AED 335m financing of a large regional developer to construct a mixed use development in Ras Al Khaimah.
