Oliver advises land owners, farmers and businesses on a wide range of Agricultural and Equestrian matters including transactional matters such as the purchase, sale and financing of agricultural and equestrian land.

Oliver also advises on Agricultural Tenancy matters under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 and on Farm Business Tenancies under the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995 and other management related matters such as easements and sporting rights.

Oliver has a mixed livestock farm in Wales which enables him to quickly identify the issues and challenges his clients are facing on a daily basis.

  • Assisting in the purchase of a circa 900 acre arable farm in Northamptonshire. The purchase was concluded within a short timescale to negate a large capital gains tax liability. The purchase involved unregistered land, adverse possession issues, residential tenancies, higher level stewardship scheme and basic payment scheme, grazing licences and a large contract farming agreement which covered the majority of the farm.
  • Assisting in the sale of a circa 600 acre poultry and arable farm in Oxfordshire. The sale involved a mix of registered and unregistered land, a number of service occupancies for the farm employees and higher level stewardship scheme and basic payment scheme.
  • Purchase of a circa 135 acre Welsh livestock farm situated on the West coast of Wales. The purchase involved farm business tenancy issues, a Site of Special Scientific Interest situated on the farm and foreshore rights.
  • Re-finance of a Warwickshire racing yards jockey accommodation.
