About
Martin is a generalist corporate lawyer and advises UK and internationally based public and privately owned companies on all aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures and financing, as well as regularly providing and general commercial and strategic advice. He has a particular focus on the real estate and healthcare sectors as well as working with a number of media companies. He is the liaison partner for the firm’s Paris office and acts for a wide variety of French companies and overseas multinationals.
Martin also holds a number of non-executive directorships, which includes being the non-executive Chairman of Walker Crips Group plc.
Martin is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
Experience
Martin’s background, both as a corporate lawyer and having spent many years in management, has led him to establish a broad range of experience and many long standing relationships in a wide variety of sectors. Recent experience includes:

Advising the owners of Caring Homes on a demerger and subsequent disposal of a portfolio of 90 homes for adults with learning disabilities

Advising Bellway Homes, Crest Nicholson and Countryside Properties on a variety of corporate transactions including establishment and operation of joint ventures (particularly with social housing providers), development acquisitions in corporate wrappers and general corporate transactions

Advising French based media groups on a variety of investments into UK TV production companies

Disposals of professional practices to larger acquirers and professional service firm consolidators

Corporate M&A generally which has included advising The Agency, one of the UK's leading writers' agencies, on the sale of a majority stake of the business to international management production group Avalon, advising the Bhatia family and other minority shareholders on the sale of their creatively led children’s book publishing business Little Tiger Group to Penguin Random House and advising the owners of PRMA, a consultancy to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, on the acquisition of that company by Fishawack Healthcare.
