Kelly has over a decade of experience in employment law and is dedicated to helping clients manage their workforces effectively. She also advises on strategic employment issues and decisions, from hiring to firing, and everything in between.

About

With a solid background in business, Kelly brings a commercially minded approach to resolving employment disputes and providing pragmatic solutions. She is a trusted adviser, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance on various issues, including restructures and redundancy, capability and absence issues, disciplinary and grievance matters, flexible working arrangements and the drafting of contracts, policies and handbooks, to name a few.

Kelly has particular expertise in business transfers and the TUPE regulations, supporting businesses through this tricky area to minimise risk. She is also skilled at helping employers and individuals navigate complex issues such as restrictive covenants, the misuse of confidential information and team moves.  

Kelly's expertise extends to handling settlement negotiations and representing clients in Employment Tribunal claims, tackling cases such as unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing. 

In addition to supporting businesses, she advises senior executives on their contractual arrangements and disputes with their employers.

Kelly is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Securing an injunction against a former employee on behalf of an insurance sector client in a team move case.
  • Advising a large client in the fast food industry on an ongoing basis in respect of day-to-day employee issues, specific projects and tribunal litigation. 
  • Successfully defending an unfair dismissal claim in the Employment Tribunal on behalf of a large manufacturing client.
  • Negotiating a substantial settlement for an individual in a whistleblowing and unfair dismissal case. 
  • Securing a favourable commercial settlement for a recruitment company threatened with an injunction in a team move case.
