Katelyn specialises in trust and estate disputes, including disputes regarding the validity of wills, acting for executors, beneficiaries and claimants under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and acting in trust disputes. She also advises on Court of Protection matters, including challenges to capacity, deputy and attorney disputes, and statutory will applications. Katelyn has a background in family law, having qualified as a family lawyer before taking her expertise to the Trusts and Estates Disputes team, enabling her to provide a full range of advice in light of any Family Law issues which may arise in a contentious trust and probate context.
Katelyn is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
Experience
- Advising attorneys in relation to significant decisions regarding P’s affairs and defending an application for their removal
- Advising the Trustees in a claim against a beneficiary regarding a substantial property belonging to the trust including advice regarding a Beddoe Application and how the trustees should comply with their obligations and properly administer the trust
- Advising a beneficiary resident abroad and liaising with her solicitors outside of the jurisdiction in a dispute against UK trustees
- Advising a beneficiary in a challenge to the validity of a deathbed will and the administration of the high value estate
