Jon was previously Head of Broadcasting and Media at Couchmans and consultant to Hammonds following his role as a partner in Townleys. Before that, Jon was ITV Network Sports Contracts Manager in the late 1980's, overseeing the first exclusive English football league television agreement.
Jon has advised on, drafted and negotiated a plethora of major international sports rights broadcasting and other media rights contracts. Matters he has advised or worked on include the following:
International media rights agreements for The Davis Cup and Fed Cup, successive media rights structures and arrangements for Ascot Racecourse, creation and protection of new and innovative cycling content for Velon Ltd, international cricket properties including ICC Cricket World Cups and The international distribution of Indian Cricket, a wide range of rugby union properties including Rugby World Cups, Five Nations and Six Nations Tournaments, Heineken Cups, advising specialist sports media rights agencies on their rights acquisition and distribution arrangements and a wide range of sports and events including surfing, table tennis and basketball.
Jon is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
