James is a tax specialist and advises on a wide range of issues, with particular focus on the taxation of corporate and real estate transactions.

About

James has significant experience advising on a broad spectrum of tax issues in connection with company acquisitions and disposals, corporate reorganisations, finance, real estate transactions and venture capital investments, including corporation tax, capital gains tax, stamp taxes, VAT and the Enterprise Investment Scheme. James acts for both domestic and international clients and can advise on tax issues in connection with cross border transactions. In addition to being a solicitor, James is dual qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser.

James is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

  • Advising a US based real estate group on its first investment into UK real estate.
  • Acting for an international real estate group on its sale of a large portfolio of investment properties.
  • Acting for a Real Estate Investment Trust on multiple property acquisitions (both direct purchases and also via corporate envelopes).
  • Advising an international Martech group on a reorganisation of its UK companies.
  • Acting on the sales of music catalogues by way of company sale.
  • Acting on the sale of an online investment platform.
