Ian is a recognised leader in the field of top end prime London residential property, and is cited in Citywealth, The Spear's 500 and Super Lawyers as a "go to" person. He has 27 years of experience in the field and is a regular adviser to some of the world’s most powerful people buying, selling and investing in London. His clients include foreign Royal families, leaders of countries, billionaires and successful business people. 95% of his clients are international and they are dealing, via Ian, with some of the most expensive residential real estate in the world.

Ian is the head of the firm’s Private Property team and advises major property companies as well as domestic and international high net worth individuals and their businesses in their English property transactions. He also advises international banks in property financing transactions.

Ian is qualified to practice as a solicitor of the Organisation of East Caribbean States Supreme Court in the territory of the British Virgin Islands. As such he advises banks, companies and law firms on the ability of British Virgin Islands International business companies to enter into transactions.

In 2018, Ian was included in the Spears' Top Five Property Lawyers which showcased the top five Private Property lawyers in the UK, Super Lawyers, Chambers HNW and Legal 500.

"He is consistently impressive and looks after the most international and powerful HNW clients. He has loads of experience. He stands out for being incredibly commercially astute, and that is a breath of fresh air." (Chambers HNW, 2018)

Ian is admitted to practise in England and Wales, and also in the British Virgin Islands.

Experience highlights

  • The transactions Ian is involved with are by their very nature highly confidential. He has acted as lawyer handling some of London’s highest value residential property deals. Suffice it to say that in 2016/2017 Ian and his team handled £2.2 billion of prime residential property transactions.
