Hannah Herbert, Senior Associate

Based in the Zurich office, Hannah advises private clients and financial institutions in relation to tax, trusts and estate planning.

As a UK qualified tax and estate planning lawyer, Hannah works with UK domiciled and non-UK domiciled high net worth individuals and advises on all aspects of wealth planning. Hannah frequently acts for trustees and financial institutions in relation to trust planning matters.

In addition to working with trusts as traditional succession planning vehicles, Hannah is adept at providing clients with a succession plan that is tailored to their individual circumstances which can involve working with corporate vehicles, where this enables the client to achieve their estate planning objectives.

Hannah is admitted to practice in England and Wales.

  • Recently, Hannah has advised individuals leaving the UK, regarding their ongoing UK tax exposure and has coordinated with accountants in Italy to provide advice on the so called ‘flat tax regime’ for non-domiciled individuals who become tax resident in Italy.
  • Hannah has also led restructuring projects for US citizens who are due to become deemed-domiciled in the UK, regarding planning as to which assets should be available to bring onshore and assets to be left offshore in order to mitigate tax.
  • As part of her trust and estate planning and restructuring practice, Hannah has overseen the liquidation and winding up of onshore and offshore entities to simplify matters, where these are no longer required to meet the client’s objectives.
