About
Hamish advises a broad range of corporate, institutional, governmental and private clients on general company and commercial matters with a particular emphasis on private company mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, fundraisings/private equity and corporate reorganisations, often involving cross-border transactions.
Hamish plays a key role on the Firm’s International Relationships Committee and co-leads the Firm’s Europe desk, working to develop and maintain our relationships with other European law firms, adding value for our clients on their international projects.
Hamish works for clients across a broad range of sectors, and has been particularly active for clients operating in TMT, Retail & Consumer, Food & Beverage and Recruitment. Hamish also plays a key role supporting our investor and entrepreneurial client base, working closely with colleagues in our market-leading Private Client group.
Hamish is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

- Advising long-standing Estonian digital transformation client, Nortal, on their acquisitions of 3DOT Solutions and Questers
- Advised the partners of specialist cyber and tech insurance broker, Safeonline, on its sale to Howden Broking Group
- Advised the shareholders of online gambling company, In Touch Games, on all legal aspects of the sale of the In Touch group (including its overseas interests) to Skywind
- Advised the founders of multi-jurisdictional employer of record business, Compandben, on its sale to TopSource Worldwide
- Advised media company, ITV, on various transactions in the TMT sector
- Advised US-listed media company, Meredith Corporation, in relation to its investment in Iris Worldwide and subsequent disposal to Korean-headquartered Cheil
- Advised the family-office owners of Hawk-Eye on its sale to Sony
- Advised US corporate, Entrepreneurial Food Group, and its family office owner on the sale of two UK food production businesses, Zorba Foods and SK Chilled Foods, to The Compleat Food Group (backed by PAI Partners)
- Advised Carton Pack on the acquisition of Leicester-based food packaging firm, Clifton Packaging. Carton Pack, headquartered in Italy, is a portfolio company of A&M Capital Europe
- Advised Dubai Holding (Urban Foods) on the sale of Géant operations in the UAE to GMG
- Advised the owner of No.1 Lounges, the UK airport lounges operator (also operating under the brand “Clubrooms”), on its sale to SwissportALD
- Advised a major company providing consultancy and outsourcing services in the Healthcare sector on various corporate transactions
- Advised the Government of The Bahamas on the privatisation of The Bahamas Telecommunications Company, the auction of a second mobile operator’s licence and various other corporate matters
- Advised ANSA McAL on the acquisition of Berger Paints Caribbean business from Mumbai-listed Asian Paints. Headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago, the ANSA McAL Group is a diversified conglomerate across eight industrial sectors and operating in over eight territories
- Advised an international tea trader on the sale of its Rwandan tea plantation to a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kolkata-based, McLeod Russel India, one of the largest tea producers in the world
