Summary

Geoff deals with property development and planning issues associated with land assembly. This normally involves dealing with any of the following: land promotion agreements, landowner collaboration agreements, option agreements and sale and purchase agreements conditional on the grant of planning permission. Geoff is also regularly instructed by landowners to deal with options and leases of wind farms, solar parks and hydro developments, and has also undertaken his own hydro development. He has spoken on a number of occasions at renewables industry conferences on both solar and hydro developments.

Geoffrey is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Experience highlights

  • Acting for a landowner consortium over a four year period to produce a Co-operation Agreement and a Promotion Agreement with promoters who obtained planning permission and subsequently sold an 850 house scheme in Gloucestershire to house builders
  • Acting for landowners in the complex restructuring of an Option Agreement relating to a consented 1250 house scheme in Gloucestershire
  • Acting for landowners over a 4 year period to sell 85 acres of land to a promoter, subject to a 36.5% overage, and subsequently negotiating its variation to accommodate cooperation with adjoining landowners
  • Acting for the developer of a 226 kw hydro scheme part funded by a local authority, dealing with development, loan, charging and electricity supply agreements and easements for supply cable to customer of the power generated by the scheme
