About

Claire acts on major mixed-use and residential-led regeneration schemes and strategic land projects for developer, landowner and investor clients. She also advises authorities, developers and occupiers on the promotion of, or objection to, compulsory purchase orders and other public law powers.

Claire writes frequently for Estates Gazette, Planning Magazine and Property Week. She is a member of the City of London Law Society Planning and Environment Sub-Committee. Claire is ranked as a 'Recommended Lawyer' in The Legal 500 and recognised as a 'Leading Individual' in Chambers & Partners.

Claire is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Providing strategic advice to the Church Commissioners for England and joint venture partners on major residential-led and mixed-use urban extensions in Chidswell, West Sussex and Hereford
  • Acting for major developers on complex and sensitive sites across Central London, including on tall buildings and those impacting upon heritage assets
  • Helping ITV plc obtain planning permission for a new corporate headquarters and residential development on the South Bank, London
  • Advising a private landowner / developer on site assembly through compulsory purchase including on the acquisition process and compensation
