Charlie is a Senior Associate within the International Private Client team at Charles Russell Speechlys.

About

He advises on a wide range of private client issues for high net worth individuals, family offices and trustees (both onshore and offshore) in relation to UK tax, trusts and succession planning.

He has worked on a number of high-value disputes and his work regularly involves both domestic UK and international matters spanning private wealth disputes and corporate sectors reflecting.  Charlie has a particular interest in advising investors and entrepreneurs on their tax and estate planning.

Charlie undertook a 6-month secondment at a leading offshore law firm in Bermuda and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Charlie is also a fluent German speaker and regularly speaks on UK/German cross-border matters.

Experience

Advising a particularly large family office transaction involving multiple trust structures and complex family governance issues with litigious elements.

Advising the trustees of substantial family trusts to enable them to carry out their responsibilities and duties in such a way as to meet the family’s requirements.

Advising the owner of a successful and high-profile family business on pre-sale structuring whilst effecting a tax efficient succession plan for the family.
