About
Ben is an Associate in the Family team. He has experience acting for high-net worth clients across a range of backgrounds in resolving financial arrangements on separation both in and out of court, and often works on cases involving international elements and other nuances.
Ben also advises on private children law including child arrangements orders and has experience with abductions involving complex jurisdictional issues. He has a particular interest in modern families work and advises on applications for UK parental orders to recognise the legal parentage of children born through both domestic and international surrogacy arrangements.
Ben trained at Charles Russell Speechlys and during his training contract, he completed seats in our Private Wealth Disputes, Family and UK Private Client teams, as well as a six-month secondment to our Global Private Client team in Geneva where he worked on cross-border tax, succession and family matters. He enjoys drawing on his Private Client experience in family matters and advising on the family angle of matters relevant to succession planning, trusts and estate administration.
Prior to starting his training contract at our Guildford office, Ben studied Law at the University of Nottingham and completed his LLM at the University of Law, before working in a Private Client team at another firm.
He is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
