About

Ashley is a specialist construction lawyer, assisting the team in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She is especially experienced in construction dispute resolution having represented clients in adjudication, arbitration, and traditional court proceedings in New Zealand. She has advised a wide range of clients from homeowners, developers, principals/employers, contractors and consultants on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

Ashley is admitted to practice in New Zealand.

Experience

  • Representing a subcontractor in an Arbitration concerning a significant civil works pipeline project impacted by delays and allegedly defective works resulting from novel design.  
  • Acting on a defective building claim in the New Zealand High Court relating to a retirement village encompassing issues of passive fire, weathertightness and structural defects.   
  • Obtaining and defending summary judgments in the New Zealand High Court and District Court for unpaid payment claims and invoices. 
  • Acting for subcontractors, contractors, and developers in construction adjudications.
