AboutAlison specialises in property litigation and advises on a wide variety of commercial property litigation issues, including opposed and unopposed lease renewals, break options, rent and service charge recovery, dilapidations, alienation issues, enforcement of covenants, forfeiture, professional negligence and property insolvency matters. Alison also assists with residential property matters, in particular leasehold enfranchisement and disputes concerning easements, nuisance, trespass, adverse possession, rights of way and boundaries. She is experienced in dealing with disputes in the County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and in the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
Alison is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
- Successfully acted for a private landlord in a claim for arrears of rent against a local authority tenant seeking to rely upon a variety of public law defences in the High Court and Court of Appeal. The claim was worth in excess of a million pounds
- Successfully acted for a homeowner in a claim for damages for unlawful works to a neighbouring property which caused damage to the homeowner’s property in the County Court
- Recently advised a private tenant from the retail sector in relation to exercising its option to break against a large commercial landlord
