Charles Russell Speechlys advises Puma Private Equity on its investment into Deazy
Charles Russell Speechlys has advised Puma Private Equity on its investment into Deazy, a software developer marketplace platform which offers businesses access to a system vetted developers.
Founded in 2016, Deazy connects businesses with high-quality development teams, comprising over 3,000 developers. The company has grown quickly over the last five years, successfully using its model, technology and ability to execute to help companies to access software developers as demand has risen globally following the pandemic. Deazy will use the funding to scale its commercial teams to accelerate growth and further build out its development teams.
Puma Private Equity is a leading provider of growth capital to small and medium-sized businesses across all sectors and regions of the UK. It delivers investments between £2 million to £10 million and partners with management teams to accelerate growth and help businesses achieve their potential.
Puma’s Investment Manager Kelvin Reader commented: “Deazy connects companies to software developers with a differentiated strategy that has delivered impressive growth to date. We’re delighted to partner with them and we thank David, Ashwin and the team at Charles Russell Speechlys for their support on the deal.”
Partner David Coates commented “It was great to work with Kelvin, Ben Leslie and Henri Songeur on Puma’s latest investment, following our work with them on their investment into Everpress in November 2021. We look forward to a busy 2022 and working with the Puma team on future investments.”
The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Corporate Partner, David Coates and Senior Associate Ashwin Pillay, supported by associate Ayman Shehata and trainee Marie-Laure Homolle-d’Arras. Partner Rob Birchall and associate Anna Reynolds advised on tax and the team also included Partner Jason Saiban and associate Olivia Crane (Commercial), associate Briony Richards (Employment), and associate Lynsey Inglis (Property).
