Charles Russell Speechlys makes two senior appointments

Charles Russell Speechlys is pleased to announce the election of Bart Peerless as the Firm’s next Senior Partner effective from May 2021, and the appointment of Lord Andrew Hay as a Non-Executive Director, effective today.

Bart Peerless

Bart Peerless joined the Firm in 1997. As a leading private client specialist, he advises individuals, family offices, trustees and beneficiaries, based in both the UK and abroad, in relation to succession and estate planning. Bart has led the Firm’s Private Client Division since 2014.

Bart will work closely with the current Senior Partner, Christopher Page, in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

Simon Ridpath, Managing Partner, said:

“Bart’s long experience of working at the Firm, his senior central management roles, his role in building a world class, market-leading Private Client business, and his profile within that market, have made him a fantastic candidate for this role. I am delighted to have him working alongside me to achieve our ambition to be a Firm that leads the market in our core areas.”

Bart Peerless said:

“I have had a varied and fascinating career at the Firm, working with exceptional people across nearly every office and business group, and I am particularly excited about the focus that I will have on the Firm’s external profile in my role as Senior Partner. I am very much looking forward to working alongside Simon where we will continue to build a Firm that is strong and successful.”

Bart will begin his four-year term in May 2021, taking over from Christopher Page, who has been Senior Partner for the past eight years.

Lord Andrew Hay

Andrew Hay will join the Firm’s Advisory Council. Previously Global Head of Residential at Knight Frank, he was responsible for the UK and global residential agency’s UHNW strategy, across 60 countries, and has 37 years’ experience of the super-prime market.

Christopher Page, Senior Partner and Chair of the Advisory Council, said:

“We are delighted that Andy has decided to join us. His appointment brings synergy to our own ambitions and, with his understanding of the world in which many of our clients operate, he will help us to shape our thinking on wrap-around advisory services for clients who own international assets, businesses and investments, as well as our strategic approach to client service and cross selling across the business. We look forward to drawing on his experience. “

Andrew Hay said:

“I am excited to be joining Charles Russell Speechlys. For me, it is the perfect opportunity to combine two symbiotic sectors for the benefit of clients in the Private Wealth space. I have worked with the Firm for many years and we share a passion for partnership and client service. I am hugely excited by the opportunity.”
