Charles Russell Speechlys advises on the management buyout of Boston Multi Family Office
Charles Russell Speechlys has advised on the management buyout of Boston Multi Family Office supported by private equity firm Rockpool Investments.
Boston Multi Family Office was founded in 2002 as a single family office and has been held in private ownership ever since. It has grown into a commercial multi-family office, based in the Isle of Man, offering trust and fiduciary services from their Isle of Man office, alongside offices in Malta and the Dubai International Financial Centre.
The new structure sees former Group Director Katherine Ellis move into the Chief Executive Officer role while Alex McNee remains as Managing Director upon completion. The firm will continue to be headquartered in the Isle of Man and will focus on organic growth and strategic acquisitions to enable a broader jurisdictional reach.
It remains business as usual at the firm, with no staff impacted by the MBO aside from CEO Alex Fray, who has left to pursue other interests. The new management team have ambitious growth plans for the business and will be looking to expand the team in the near future to help facilitate these plans.
Boston Link, the recruitment specialist firm and former sister business to Boston Multi Family Office will now become a standalone company. The management buyout is subject to regulatory approval.
Katherine Ellis said, “We were very impressed with the support and speed of delivery from the Charles Russell Speechlys team and hope to do more with Rebecca, Rajiv and the wider team in future. The MBO of Boston Multi Family Office represents a great opportunity for our business and we’re excited about the next phase of our journey with our new partners, Rockpool Investments.
Charles Russell Speechlys helped us navigate the management side of the transaction with ease and provided a professional and extremely efficient service. I would happily recommend the highly approachable Rebecca and Rajiv at Charles Russell Speechlys to any business looking for management representation in an MBO process."
Rebecca commented that “it was a pleasure to assist Katherine and Alex through the transaction. They are a strong and dynamic management team who we are sure will take the business from strength to strength.”
