Charles Russell Speechlys advises the Civica Group on the acquisition of delivery management software specialist, TranSend Solutions Limited
Charles Russell Speechlys has advised longstanding client, the Civica Group, an investee company of Partners Group and market leader in business-critical software, digital solutions and managed services, on its latest acquisition of specialist SaaS provider, TranSend Solutions Limited.
TranSend Solutions is one of the UK’s leading providers of delivery management software to organisations with complex logistics and transport requirements. As part of the Civica Group’s growth strategy, the acquisition adds new cloud software and customers to complement Civica’s existing TranMan software family for the sector.
TranSend software is used by more than 75 major organisations, including Wessex Water, Seven Trent Water and Wincanton. Its real-time, PDA and web-based delivery management and monitoring systems provide an end-to-end solution covering route optimisation, electronic proof of delivery, transport compliance and delivery intelligence, designed to maximise efficiency, reduce operational costs and improve the customer experience. TranSend Solutions’ electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) app with intelligent workflow, supports complex delivery and service processes whilst making it intuitive for drivers to operate, including sub-contractors and agency drivers.
Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO, said, “I am pleased to welcome TranSend Solutions to Civica. The company’s ePOD software system tailors all aspects of the delivery management process and we look forward to expanding the business-critical software that we offer to our customers and stakeholders.”
Lucy Thorpe, Corporate Senior Associate, who led the team, commented “we were delighted to act for Civica on this acquisition, which is the most recent of 18 deals that we have advised Civica on, and follows the acquisitions of TracSystems and Electoral Reform Services in late 2018. The acquisition of TranSend Solutions aligns with Civica’s growth strategy, adding new capabilities and customers across transport and logistics activities to complement Civica’s existing transport software offering, TranMan. On a sector perspective, our TMT focussed expertise complements this growth strategy perfectly.”
The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Lucy Thorpe and Corporate Partner and Head of Private Equity Malcolm MacDougall, and comprised Corporate Associate Ashwin Pillay, Corporate trainee Charlie Searle, Commercial Associate Caroline Young and members of the firm’s Corporate Tax, Employment and Real Estate teams.
