Charles Russell Speechlys advises the Civica Group on the acquisition of data management company VisionWare

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised the Civica Group (an investee company of Partners Group) on the acquisition of master data management specialists, VisionWare Limited (VisionWare).

Based in Glasgow and with operations in the UK and the USA, VisionWare is a provider of innovative master data management (MDM) solutions for local and regional government and healthcare.  Its products and services deliver to organisations a complete, single view of their customers, enabling more efficient data-driven processes and intelligent automation. VisionWare has been recognised as an innovator by Bloor Research and included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for MDM of customer data solutions.

In keeping with Civica’s strategy, VisionWare adds customer-relevant technology and expertise which is complementary across Civica’s leading family of business-critical software and services for the public sector. It also builds on the recent launch of Civica’s Digital division and strengthens the group’s capability to accelerate transformation of public services through digital technology and automation.

Lucy Thorpe, Corporate Senior Associate, commented on the deal “We’re delighted to have advised long-standing client Civica on the acquisition of VisionWare.  This is the fourth transaction we have advised Civica on this year, following the most recent acquisitions of Nationwide Retail Systems Limited and OneStep Solutions, and demonstrates the strength of the buy and build strategy of Civica’s new private equity investor, Partners Group.  The transaction further adds to both our Corporate and Commercial teams experience in the TMT sector, a key growth area for the firm.”

The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Corporate Senior Associate Lucy Thorpe and Corporate Partner and Head of Private Equity Malcolm MacDougall, and comprised Corporate Associates Rajiv Kakkad and Ashwin Pillay, Commercial Associate Caroline Young and members of the firm’s corporate tax, employment, pensions, real estate and banking teams.
