Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund recognised by Business Magazine Awards
The Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund has been recognised at the annual Business Magazine Awards, winning 3rd place in the Community Legacy category sponsored by Peter Brett Associates.
The Fund was set up last year to support projects in and around Guildford focusing on employment, training and skills initiatives. To date, it has supported seven charities with a range of projects including support for a youth music tour and equipment for outdoor activities.
Sally Ashford said “We are thrilled to be recognised with this award as we move in to the second year of our Fund. We are passionate about our local community, and through this Fund we have an opportunity to ‘give back’ and support some truly inspiring projects. It is a real team effort with people from across our Guildford office involved in the selection of grants as well as volunteering with the charities involved.”
The judges at Peter Brett Associates said “The Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund is a perfect example of how to do this right. The Fund has been established in a thoroughly professional manner, all due diligence has been done, great communication and enthusiasm exists in the workforce, and the programme is set up to help as many local charities and organisations as possible. The strategy behind the Fund ensures that it will continue long into the future making it a true legacy for the community.”
The Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund is managed by the Community Foundation for Surrey. If you are a Surrey-based charity which enables young people to widen their horizons and aspirations and are looking for funding, please contact Kate Peters from the Community Foundation for Surrey on 01483 478092 or info@CFSurrey.org.uk for further information.
