Charles Russell Speechlys shortlisted for ‘Community Legacy Award’
The Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund in Guildford has been shortlisted for the ‘Community Legacy Award’ at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2018.
The Fund launched in October 2016 to support projects in and around Guildford focusing on employment, training and skills initiatives. In the last year we have supported 6 inspiring projects from the Boileroom, Skillway, Change of Scene, Challengers, Wey House School and the Therapy Garden. Last month we announced that we would double the Fund for year 2 with the first grant of £2800 awarded to the 1st Guildford Boys Brigade for new kayaking and camping equipment.
Sally Ashford, partner, said “We are thrilled to be recognised for our Community Fund. As one of the leading charity law firms in the South East with a private client team advising individuals on their philanthropic interests, it was a natural step to establish our own charitable initiative to ‘put our money where our mouth is’ and create our own legacy in our community.
“The Fund is a real team effort across our Guildford office with an enthusiastic panel of volunteers assessing each grant application and volunteering with the charities we support.”
The award ceremony takes place on Thursday 16 November at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading.
