Family Business Owners Invited to Guildford Growth Club Launch
A new business club aimed at supporting family businesses in Surrey is launching on Wednesday 27 September at 6pm at Charles Russell Speechlys office, One London Square, Guildford.
The Guildford Growth Club - established by Family Business Place who have a track record in similar events across the UK - will provide an opportunity for Surrey-based family business owners to network, receive professional advice and support each other’s growth plans.
The launch event, which is free to attend, will include a drinks reception, networking opportunities and a presentation by Douglas Lloyd, co-founder of award-winning Azoomee, who will share his experiences of running a successful family business.
According to Anita Brightley-Hodges, Managing Director of Family Business Place, “Our Growth Clubs are a pioneering new concept for the leaders of Britain’s most ambitious family-owned businesses and we are excited to launch our next growth club in Guildford in partnership with Charles Russell Speechlys who are professional advisors with a passion and expertise in supporting family firms. Following the launch event, the Club will meet up on a quarterly basis to support and develop each other’s plans for growth and success, a rare opportunity to work ON your business not IN it.”
Sally Ashford, Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys said “The South East is home to more family businesses than any other part of the UK. They are a vital part of the region’s economy and we are therefore delighted to work with Family Business Place on the launch of their Growth Club.
“Charles Russell Speechlys works with family businesses across the South East and we know that in addition to the day-to-day running of a business, they face additional challenges dealing with family dynamics, succession and governance. Family Business Growth Clubs are a welcome forum to bring family business owners together with professional advisors who share their vision and understand their challenges.”
Family Business Place Growth Clubs are a nationwide network of small, local hubs of family business leaders who meet quarterly to spend time working on their businesses. As well as the operational challenges of running and growing a business, family-owned companies have to grapple with the added challenges of family dynamics, succession issues, governance and the next generation. Growth Club members meet on a quarterly basis to talk about the issues they face. They also have the opportunity to discuss legal and financial matters with professional advisors.
