Charles Russell Speechlys has advised BGF (Business Growth Fund) on its investment in Milk Visual Effects Limited, a London based award-winning visual effects agency.
Milk Visual Effects Limited offers post-production visual effects services historically with a focus on the UK television market but with an increasing presence in film. Notable works include Sherlock Holmes, Dr Who and Ex Machina. BGF is the UK's most active provider of growth capital in small and mid-sized businesses, having invested more than £1.2bn in over 180 companies since 2011.
Chris Hodges of BGF commented:
"Once again Malcolm and his team provided BGF with pragmatic and commercial legal support. Consequently, we proceeded quickly through legal due diligence and documentation and were able to complete the transaction efficiently, with minimum disruption to the team at Milk VFX."
The Charles Russell Speechlys core team comprised Head of Private Equity Malcolm MacDougall, Private Equity Associates Amy Utley and Hannah Dawson, Real Estate Associate Usman Khan and Tax Associate Anna Broxup, with support from members of the Commercial and Employment teams.
Malcolm MacDougall commented:
"It was a pleasure working with the BGF team on this deal, our sixth deal acting for BGF. We are delighted to have assisted BGF in getting the deal over the line and helping BGF with this investment in this exciting space."
