Charles Russell Speechlys advises VinaCapital Group on the move to the Main Market of its flagship fund VOF
Charles Russell Speechlys has acted for VinaCapital Investment Management Limited on the recent admission of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited (“VOF”) to the Official List (premium listing closed ended investment funds) and to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and the cancellation of its AIM listing and VOF’s migration from the Cayman Island to Guernsey.
VOF (market cap. approx. £371m) is a diversified, closed-ended fund, with the objective to achieve medium to long-term returns through investment in assets either in Vietnam or in companies with a substantial majority of their assets, operations, revenues or income in, or derived from Vietnam. VOF has been managed by VinaCapital Group since its launch on AIM in September 2003.
“We are pleased to have completed this process, which included VOF registration in Guernsey and culminated in a move to the Main Market. The Company has come a long way since its inception in 2003, and we believe a listing on the Main Market marks the start of a new chapter of growth” said Andy Ho, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of VinaCapital Group. “With the higher profile afforded by such a listing, we should be in a better position to improve liquidity and reach a broader investor base”.
“The team at Charles Russell Speechlys were very beneficial to the smooth running of the transition, their expertise and hands-on approach evident throughout".
Victoria Younghusband, who led the Charles Russell Speechlys team said, “We are delighted to have assisted VinaCapital Group to the successful completion of this complex process”.
