Charles Russell Speechlys acts for Aleph Capital and Crestview Partners
Charles Russell Speechlys has acted as legal due diligence provider to Aleph Capital Partners LLP (Aleph Capital) and Crestview Partners (Crestview) on the acquisition by funds under their control of a 30% stake in Interoute Communications Ltd from Emirates International Telecommunications LLC.
Charles Russell Speechlys coordinated legal due diligence providers in several jurisdictions across Europe and worked alongside Weil, Gotshal & Manges, who advised on the acquisition. Headquartered in London, Interoute is an integrated network and cloud computing company that owns and operates one of the largest next generation networks and cloud computing platforms across Europe.
It serves both the enterprise and carrier markets through its extensive owned network of fibre and data centres, and through its full range of infrastructure, transport, connectivity, communications and computing services.
Interoute expects to strongly benefit in the coming years both from enterprises’ rapid adoption of networked cloud computing and the continued explosion in bandwidth usage throughout Europe. With the support of its existing and new shareholders, it intends to participate proactively in the consolidation of the cloud and fibre markets in Europe and beyond.
Maneesh Sharma of Aleph Capital said: “Charles Russell Speechlys provided a great service and worked well with Weil, Gotshal & Manges to provide seamless support on the acquisition. We look forward to working with them again. ”
Commenting on the transaction, Partner Malcolm MacDougall, head of private equity at Charles Russell Speechlys, said: "We are delighted to have coordinated the legal due diligence process, working with Aleph and Crestview’s other advisers including legal advisers in several jurisdictions across Europe. This was a complex due diligence exercise and we are delighted to have assisted getting the transaction to a successful conclusion. ”
The Charles Russell Speechlys due diligence team was led by head of Private Equity Malcolm MacDougall and Private Equity Associates Lucy Scott and Sarah Aldersley, and included Technology, Media & Telecommunications and Intellectual Property advice from Partners Mark Bailey and Vincenzo Lanni.
