ENeRgize - Autumn 2016
Welcome to our Autumn edition of the ENeRgize newsletter, focusing on the latest news and views from the Energy & Natural Resources team at Charles Russell Speechlys.
As ever we have an eclectic mix of articles in this edition, demonstrating the breadth of our practice and the wide range of geographies the team is active in. Activity levels post the UK's Brexit vote have actually been higher in the sector, which is a reflection of the fact that most of the action in our sector is outside the EU!
If you have any concerns around these themes, the articles below, or other issues within the Energy & Natural Resources sector, please do get in touch with your regular Charles Russell Speechlys contacts, or alternatively the team listed below.
We hope that you find this newsletter informative and enjoyable.

David Berry explores the common perceptions of the Caribbean and the significant factors bringing about changes in the way Caribbean countries source their much needed energy supply. Oil, mining & modern slavery: new requirements for organisations
In an effort to improve human rights and eradicate slavery within the UK and beyond, the UK has introduced the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act). The Act is particularly of significance for oil and gas companies, whose worldwide reach and involvement in high risk countries mean an awareness of the new requirements is especially important.
