Consultation on changes to automatic enrolment
The Department for Work and Pensions are consulting on changes to automatic enrolment for new employers set up after 1 April 2017. Currently, new employers must comply on the first day they pay PAYE income, but this is likely to change to the date they first employ the worker.
While there is currently no deferral allowed for new employers, they are however likely to be given the chance to defer new workers for up to 3 months. For information on the full consultation click here.
