European Competition Network issues joint statement on application of competition law during the COVID-19 crisis
The European Competition Network has issued a joint statement on the application of competition law during the COVID-19 crisis. The European Competition Network is the body through which the European Commission and the national competition authorities in all EU Member States co-operate. The statement explains that the competition authorities understand that the current situation may trigger the need for companies to cooperate in order to ensure the supply and fair distribution of scarce products to consumers and that, in the current circumstances, they will not actively intervene against necessary and temporary measures put in place in order to avoid a shortage of supply.
