CMA proposing to refer Amazon’s investment in Deliveroo
The CMA is proposing to refer Amazon’s investment in Deliveroo for a detailed investigation, unless the parties offer suitable undertakings in lieu of a reference. The CMA is concerned that the deal could damage competition in online restaurant food delivery, by discouraging Amazon from re-entering the market in the UK, as well as the emerging market for online convenience grocery delivery.
