Secretary of State issues further update on Fox/Sky merger
The Secretary of State has issued a further update on her consideration of the proposed merger between 21st Century Fox Inc. and Sky Plc. The Secretary of State sought clarification from Ofcom on some aspects of the additional advice it provided and has now received Ofcom’s response. The Secretary of State will now consider the advice before making her decision on referral. Click here.

CMA
- The CMA has published updated merger guidance in relation to its use of initial enforcement orders, an updated merger notice and some minor amendments to the guidance on its merger intelligence function. Click here.
- The CMA has cleared the merger between Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation on the grounds that relevant customer benefits will outweigh any adverse competitive effects arising from the merger. Click here.
