Advocate General’s opinion on Intel appeal recommends remittal to General Court

The Advocate General’s opinion has been issued in relation to the appeal by Intel against the European Commission's 2009 decision fining Intel for breach of Article 102.  The Advocate General recommends that the ECJ set aside the General Court's judgment, which upheld the decision, and remit the case for a fresh review.  Click here

  • The CMA has announced that it is considering accepting undertakings offered by Future plc in relation to its acquisition of Miura (Holdings) Limited.  The CMA considers that the transaction gives rise to competition concerns in relation to the supply of sci-fi magazines and so Future has offered to divest the business of the title SciFiNow.  Click here
  • The CMA has announced that it is considering whether to accept undertakings offered by the parties in relation to Dover’s anticipated acquisition of Wayne.  The CMA announced last month that it has concerns over the merger’s effect on competition in the supply of fuel dispensers in the UK.  Click here.
