Following the UK Chancellor’s Budget, a raft of legislative and policy changes kicks in that will have a direct impact on construction businesses, including tax on homebuilding profits.
Companies making more than £25m a year in profit from building and selling homes in the UK will pay a new windfall tax from 1 April.
Helen Coward, said “teething issues” may be expected as the sector works out “exactly how the tax will work in practice”.
She added:
“Affected taxpayers – and especially those on the margins of being caught by it – will hopefully have already considered how the new tax affects their business and how best to manage the additional burdens of compliance.”
